Home Learning During School Closure

Hello Primary 3!

First of all, a big thank you for all your effort in keeping up with the learning packs and checking the website for ideas and support. I hope you have found the home learning page helpful and the ideas for supporting reading beneficial.

We have loved hearing from you, including lovely photographs of artwork, practical learning and completed work. Please continue to be in contact. The upcoming work for the next five weeks will be revision and practice of work that we have covered in class. Discussion will still be needed to help you think about what you already know and to help to put this into practice.

We hope that this revision work will free up time to allow for more fun with practical learning on our topic work. Our new topic is Journeys and we will be thinking of lots of different types of journeys, everything from short walking journeys and animal journeys to the journey of bread! To support the work packs collected from school on May 22nd, there are links for particular topic activities below. Not all topic activities will have a matching link.

We will keep the previous work links active on this page to enable those who are still working through, to have continued access. Keep up the great work you are doing and remember we are here to help with any questions that you may have.

Warm wishes,
Mrs Jackson and Mrs Innocenzi
Term 3 Week 3

Hello Primary 3!

We are missing all our P.3’s! We hope you are having fun with the online activities we have shared so far. We would love you to send some pictures of your experiences, small or large. I found a millipede in the garden during my mini beast hunt! There were also plenty of woodlice. Did anyone have a successful mini beast hunt?
Did you explore the Oxford Island activities? Maybe you followed the instructions to complete the crafty mini beasts?
If you have difficulty accessing that link, there are also some great activities on Birds, Bugs and Beasts on the BBC Bitesize website.

BBC Bitesize
You may want to explore the fab BBC Bitesize daily lessons, which could help reinforce our Primary 3 learning.
Maybe you have been busy with creative activities of your own. We would love to see or hear about them.
May is National Share a Story month. We had been doing so well with our Share a Story challenge for World Book Day in school, so now is a great time to enjoy sharing stories.
From bedtime stories to writing our own stories, there are plenty of ways to share a story. If you are stuck for ideas, check out the World Book Day website where there are free audiobooks (such as What the Ladybird Heard) and various follow up activities.
A big thank you for anyone who has asked a question or shared work. Please continue to do so! We would love to hear how you are getting on.
Most importantly, stay safe and remember that even though we are not in the classroom together, we are still here for you.
Warm wishes,
Mrs Jackson and Mrs Innocenzi.

Numeracy Activities

In P3 we have been looking at Carroll Diagrams and how to sort atribute blocks, pictures and numbers into them. The children have thoroughly enjoyed working together to come up with criteria to sort their images/objects on a given Carroll Diagram. The children have also been able to interpret information from their Carroll Diagrams and have explained their choices.
We are settling into Primary 3 very well. As you can see we are enjoying our All About Me activities.
