Term 1A Overview
December 2020
We have had a busy December in P5/6 despite not having to practice and perform the usual Christmas production or Carol Service. We worked hard right through to the last day of term. We looked at difficult fraction, and decimal work, wrote some playscipts and finished our Titanic topic by experimenting with floating/sinking and buoyancy by making our own clay boats and seeing how many coins they could hold before sinking. We also did a cool science experiment by using some tissue paper to help a paper clip float (It's all to do with surface tension). We also started doing one PE lesson inside the hall and had some fun times playing in the forest area.

Outdoor Learning - Mental Maths
This week Primary 6 have been revising their mental calculation of doubles of any 2 digit number, e.g. double 47, double 78. Today we went outside and worked together to calculate the answers to doubles of 2 digit numbers using the methods and strategies taught this week. We used chalk to record our method and answer on the ground.
